Chris has worked for and with forensic engineering firms and problem‐solved and provided opinions and reports associated with electrical power and lighting systems in facilities as well electrical components of various products and appliances. Expertise includes a thorough knowledge of electrical building systems including power distribution, interior and exterior lighting, elevators, lightning protection, fire alarm, maintenance and associated construction, design, project management, safety codes and construction codes. Duties include advising clients regarding electrical systems, electrical equipment, cause and origin investigations, forensic engineering, equipment failure, incident investigation, damage assessment, cost recommendations, electrical design and the development of various engineering reports. Chris regularly provides litigation related services for subrogation including consultation, reports, depositions and other services.

Mclarens Young – Washington Harbour Flood – Washington, DC ‐ Mr. Fleming provided electrical engineering expertise to evaluate and document the impact of a significant flood of a historic Georgetown commercial complex that included luxury condominiums, office space, boardwalk and restaurants. Scope included evaluation and documentation of existing electrical and elevator systems, rebuild costs, contractor proposal review, and recommendations toward settlement between site owner and insurance companies ($80,000,000). Mr. Fleming provided an Initial Site Inspection Report, Damage Assessment Reports, and all necessary technical data to evaluate the insurance claim.

 

IFO Group – Marcal Paper Factory – Elmwood Park, NJ ‐ Mr. Fleming worked with the IFO Group and provided electrical engineering expertise and investigated the origin and cause of the fire. The site included over 600,000 square feet and 15 structures.  Approximately half the site was destroyed. Damages are estimated at over $100,000,000. This is still an active file as of October 2019.

 

American Claims Management – Samsung Refrigerator Fire – Hampton, VA ‐ Mr. Fleming provided engineering expertise to determine the cause and origin of a fire emanating from a refrigerator. Scope included multiple destructive examinations, determining cause and origin, subrogation tasks, and report development. Damages approach $400,000.

 

The Hartford – Bus Duct Fire – Staten Island, NY ‐ Mr. Fleming provided engineering expertise to investigate the cause and origin of a bus duct related fire on the roof of a mall. Our Insured was named as a potential defendant in a suit. Damages approach $3,000,000. Scope included multiple site inspections and examinations, determining origin and cause and other related tasks. Our investigations cleared our Insured.

 

McLaren’s Young – Lowe Enterprises – Crystal City, VA – Mr. Fleming performed an electrical forensic investigation of an explosion at a 13‐story commercial office building. The explosion occurred in an exterior transformer vault and resulted in a multiple day outage to the high‐rise. Mr. Fleming provided the Initial Site Inspection Report, Origin and Cause Report, Damage Assessment Report, subrogation details and all necessary technical data to evaluate the insurance claim.
